Fable Anniversary

The first thing you will notice, and only because they make a big deal about pointing it out every time you load the game, is the SmartGlass functionality. For those not aware, SmartGlass is an app for Xbox 360 and Xbox One that allows Android, iOS and Windows capable devices such as tablets and smartphones to connect to a console to provide a number of functions. Usually SmartGlass just turns my iPhone into an awkward to use Netflix remote, but with Fable Anniversary you can use it to compare on screen images to the original Xbox version’s graphics, take screenshots, and peruse the map. It can also be the key in revealing some hidden items in the game, and an easy 25 point achievement.

Once you get past the initial SmartGlass splash screen/advertisement and actually start the game, the next thing you will notice is the graphics overhaul. Fable Anniversary is downright beautiful, and it’s not hard to see where the 15 months Lionhead Studios spent developing this game went. The world of Albion and its familiar environs are brought to life with updated lighting, high definition skins and textures, and all around improved graphical fidelity. So good in fact, I ran into some framerate issues more than once. Whether that was due to my machine, the disc I was playing, or just a whole lot of extra pizzazz dumped on a 10-year-old game, still remains a question.

If you’ve played Fable, Anniversary will definitely be familiar. Aside from the graphics and audio overhaul, the game itself remains essentially unchanged. Fable Anniversary is definitely not a reimagining of the original game, but more like an update. Fans will likely be pleased that the mechanics, story and side content remain unchanged, but those that haven’t played the original will find an ‘open world RPG’ that doesn’t feel very open, voice acting that is passable but dated, and a Fable game that is less feature-rich than Fable II or Fable III.

That’s not to say there isn’t a lot here. As the Hero of Oakvale, and a card-carrying member of the guild, you’ll have plenty of questing to do. There are still houses to buy and move into or subsequently rent out as a source of income. There are titles to earn; no one wants to be known as Chicken Chaser for the whole game after all. Oh, and you’ll have to decide if you’re good or evil of course. Will you be a hero to the people of Albion, or will you save them from themselves by ruling through fear and intimidation?

The game’s not perfect. Aside from the occasional graphical slowdown, it would have been nice if the crew at Lionhead Studios had allotted maybe one of the fifteen months they spent on this game towards reconstructing the arcane menu system or reducing loading times. The graphics are nice and all, but maybe not worth waiting for 15-20 seconds every time you switch areas. Still, if your only exposure to the Fable series is II or III, this is absolutely the best way for a 360 owner to get a glimpse at the roots of the franchise. At the budget-minded price of $39.99 new, Fable Anniversary is a no-brainer pickup for diehard fans of the series. Casual fans and achievement chasers will find plenty to keep them busy here as well. Look for it at your local Slackers today.

Basic Far Cry 4 Walkthrough

As an overview, know that all the quests that are part of Far Cry 4 are basically the same as they are. They still include diffusing bombs, hunting animals, completing assassinations, hunting for supplies, choosing Golden Paths, going through propaganda centers, and the Pagan’s wrath. Kyrat is a much more complex place in which to get around in this version of the game, so as a quick tip you will want to grab the radio towers first and get yourself a tiny helicopter, too. This will help you get around a lot easier.

The main protagonist of the game is still Ajay Ghale. He is continuing to look for a great spot to spread his mother’s ashes. Her dying wish was for them to be spread somewhere in Kyrat, and as in the other Far Crys, Ajay becomes involved in the civil war and winds up being the successor to Pagan Min as the King of Kyrat. This Far Cry 4 Walk through will now cover the missions and side quests.

You will want to choose your Golden Path. You can decide on Sabal or Amita’s paths. Try both to see how they both end up for you. The quests are found at the Side Quests scattered on the map.

These include all the quests outlined above,

As you complete various missions be aware that one way to keep the protagonist strong in the game is by making sure he has all the gear he can get. A great way to do this is to hunt animals as soon as you get your tiny helicopter. This way, you can cloth him properly so he can comfortably complete the Shangri-La Missions, the Yogi Missions, the Longinus Missions and the Reggie Missions.

Hide behind viruses when small.

The risk of being just a tiny blob is that larger one will come after you without a second thought. One of the best ways to save your skin is to hide behind viruses which are dreaded by big blobs. The truth is that blobs larger than the viruses risk being split up on collision hence they will keep off such viruses. Take advantage of the viruses whenever you can till you are large enough.

Use the viruses against opponents.

Apart from hiding behind them, viruses can also prove to be helpful in taking down your opponents. Just feed the virus and it will reward you by exploding the opponent into pieces. You just need to know how to use the right keys at the right time and you will easily take down opponents.

Don’t forget the corners and edges

Agar is a game that comes with edges and you can use them to your advantage. The corners and edges can be used to make opponents helpless, especially the smaller blobs. When you manage to corner them, you can absorb them as they have no place left to run to. Use edges and corners whenever you can to trap opponents.

Fake direction when trapped

When you are at higher levels of the game and past novice stage, understanding your cell is important. When you find yourself trapped by bigger cells, especially near the borders, fake taking one direction just a little and then take another route. Considering that bigger cells are slow, you will manage to get off the hook easily.

Divide yourself to increase pace

It is great to be big, but your speeds will be slowed. When facing blobs and you are too big to run, simply split yourself up so you can move faster and then you can absorb the smaller blobs around you.

Dungeons and Dragons

In order to play the game you need a few things… a copy of the rulebooks, funny dice, a gamemaster, and some players. Oh… and don’t forget the pens and paper! Of course, if you play online using a Virtual Game Table like Maptool or Roll20, all you need are the bodies. The dice, rules, and pens and paper aren’t needed at all as it can all be stored digitally.

You can find the rules for 3rd edition for free by googling, ‘d20 SRD’. There are numerous sites that have the full rules available for free. Hurray Open Gaming License!

The software to play online is also free if you know where to look. Maptool and Roll20 are the two best free options available at the moment. OpenRPG runs a close third. I never bother with pay to play tables as it’s a waste of money.

The only other thing you need to play pen and paper RPGs is your imagination. D&D is a game of pretend with a gamemaster weaving a world of adventure in which the players are expected to react in. It can be great fun for all involved but it requires a commitment on all parties to be reliable and dependable and to show up each week. Nothing sucks so bad as a missing player… well, a missing GM is worse as nothing happens with out him to spin his tale.

If you’re interested in getting into a game you also need to decide if you want to join a face to face game or if you want to play online. Face to face is great, but playing online allows you to play in your underwear… I’m just sayin…

Seriously though, playing online using Virtual Game Tables is awesome. It allows friends from all over the world to meet up in one online location and play. It lets family men and women participate without having to leave the comfort of their home or invite a bunch of people over. It’s also a heck of a lot easier to find a game online. While your town might have a few groups that play, playing online really increases the odds of your finding a game that suits your desires more. Shadowrun, Mutants and Masterminds, Serenity, Mage, Vampires, whatever you’re into, you can always find it online.

So if you have been thinking about getting into D&D, think no more. Just do it. You won’t regret it. It’s a great way to spend 4 or 5 hours to escape reality without resorting to drugs or alcohol. I hope this article serves to bring a while slew of new adventurers into the world of pen and paper gaming.

Tricks Win Online Racing Contests

Pick a good car

Most online car games allow the user to choose a car he or she is going to use. It goes without saying that you should pick a good car that has good stability, acceleration and brakes. For most games, the choice of cars is the same for all players. However, in some games, you only unlock certain cars after winning certain races or by purchasing them. Whatever the case, just make certain you have picked the best car available to you.

Tune it up

Some online games allow you to tune up your car according to your preferences just like in a real world. If you are playing such a game, then you should take advantage of this feature. If you can, begin by upgrading the engine to give your car more power. You can also get advanced breaks, high performance tires and even an extra gas tank. If your game requires you to use credits to obtain these parts, ensure that you earn some first.

Go to practice mode

Most racing games have a practice mode to allow beginners to learn the basics of racing before they can start to race their opponents. If your game is like this, do not ignore this feature. You should practice as much as possible before you even think of entering your first racing event. Do not enter a race immediately after a practice session because you will be too tired to maintain focus.

Race at lower levels

This is especially important for beginners. One of the reasons you might not be winning is because you might be racing with pros yet you are just new to the game. Try racing on a lower level to challenge opponents with the same capabilities as you. Nearly all racing games have different racing levels.

The right map for the right purpose

In order to practice their skills the gamers must choose the right map. For instance, to practice a bomb defusing map gamers should choose a map like ‘dust 2’ as this is one of the best and the most popular map for this purpose. Similarly, in order to practice their sniping skills gamers the map of ‘India’ can serve as a great means of doing so.
